Osteopathy is a holistic based treatment using the hands to correct tissue & joint abnormalities. It is aimed at restoring physical & mental wellbeing and thereby making it easier for the body to use its own recuperative powers to heal itself. The treatment goal is to improve circulation, reduce muscle spasm, improve flexibility, maintain nerve supply & restore muscle/joint harmony. Along with the general musculoskeletal problems such as back/neck pain, osteopathy can help with a wide variety of problems including postural changes during pregnancy; babies with colic or sleeplessness, repetitive strain injury, postural problems caused by driving or work strain, the pain of arthritis and sports injuries among many others.
The biodynamic view of osteopathy in the cranial field recognises that the embryological forces, that created the embryo, are also the forces of growth and development and the sustaining restorative forces throughout life. Through disciplined study and a refined sense of touch, the Osteopath is able to sense and cooperate with the intention of these forces to promote healing in the patient.
Kinesiology is defined primarily as the use of muscle testing to identify imbalances in the body’s structural, chemical, emotional or other energy, to establish the body’s priority healing needs, and to evaluate energy changes brought about by a broad spectrum of both manual and non-manual therapeutic procedures.
Remedial therapy aims to treat the primary cause of one’s pain and dysfunction and assist the body’s natural healing process. Our remedial therapists are highly skilled in helping to relieve chronic pain, muscular ache or injury, structural imbalance and specific or recurring pain points. We do this by employing a wide variety of soft tissue techniques including:
